Nanofluid Structural Forces Alter Solid Wetting, Enhancing Oil Recovery

چکیده
Nanofluids have attracted significant research interest for their promising application in enhanced oil recovery. One striking feature leading to the outstanding efficiency of nanofluids recovery is structure nanoparticles, which induces oscillatory structural forces confined space between fluid–fluid interfaces or air–liquid and liquid–solid interfaces. To promote understanding recovery, we reviewed origin theory forces, factors affecting magnitude, experimental techniques demonstrating impacts on We also methods, where benefits provided by are directly manifested. The wetting spreading solid surfaces, ultimately enhances separation from reservoir. Some imbibition tests demonstrated as much 50% increased compared cases were absent.

Wetting and surface forces.
In this review we discuss the fundamental role of surface forces, with a particular emphasis on the effect of the disjoining pressure, in establishing the wetting regime in the three phase systems with both plane and curved geometry. The special attention is given to the conditions of the formation of wetting/adsorption liquid films on the surface of poorly wetted substrate and the possibility ...
متن کاملSurface forces and wetting phenomena.
Conditions for thermodynamic equilibrium of liquid drops on solid substrates are presented. It is shown that if surface force (disjoining/conjoining Derjaguin pressure) action in a vicinity of the three-phase contact line is taken into account the condition of thermodynamic equilibrium is duly satisfied. Then the thermodynamic expressions for equilibrium contact angles of drops on solid substra...
متن کاملFluorosilaned-TiO2/PVDF Membrane Distillation with Improved Wetting Resistance for Water Recovery from High Solid Loading Wastewater
Membrane distillation (MD) has emerged as an important technology for applications in industries such as seawater desalination and wastewater treatment due to its low energy requirement and theoretically low fouling propensity. However, the main obstacle to obtain high separating efciency in MD lies on the availability of porous hydrophobic membrane that can withstand p...
متن کاملExperimental study on electromagnetic-assisted ZnO nanofluid flooding for enhanced oil recovery (EOR)
Recently, nano-EOR has emerged as a new frontier for improved and enhanced oil recovery (IOR & EOR). Despite their benefits, the nanoparticles tend to agglomerate at reservoir conditions which cause their detachment from the oil/water interface, and are consequently retained rather than transported through a porous medium. Dielectric nanoparticles including ZnO have been proposed to be a good r...
متن کاملNonequilibrium wetting transitions with short range forces.
We analyze within mean-field theory as well as numerically a Kardar-Parisi-Zhang equation that describes nonequilibrium wetting. Both complete and critical wettitng transitions were found and characterized in detail. For one-dimensional substrates the critical weting temperature is depressed by fluctuations. In addition, we have investigated a region in the space of parameters (temperature and ...
